The area surrounding the apartment:

This beautifully restored Old Stone House is located in the Tuscan village of Orbicciano in the district of Seimiglia, halfway between Lucca and Camaiore. The charming house is idyllically situated in the calm green hills of Val Freddana amidst olive, cypress and wild cherry trees, grapevines and lavender, and it neighbors the 9th century Romanesque parish church of San Lorenzo, typical of the region’s characteristic medieval atmosphere.

The property is conveniently located just a few meters from the Via Francigena, the old pilgrim route linking France and Rome. Today, that same road will take you in only 5 minutes by car to the center of Camaiore, and in 15 minutes to Camaiore’s seaside Lido and the nearby beaches in the choicest part of Tuscany’s Versilia region. Heading inland, the walled Renaissance city of Lucca is only 12km away, Florence 70km, and Siena 85km. Just to the south, Lake Massacciuccoli is 8km, while Viareggio, with its beaches and marina, is 12km. To the northwest, the beaches of Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi are but 8km and 12km. Pisa International Airport, Tuscany’s main airport, is only 30km from the house

The Old Stone House offers an ample garden of 400m2 that surrounds a lovely wooden terrace with barbeque, while a shady pergola offers respite from the brilliant Tuscan sun. The luminous interior is tastefully furnished, harmoniously marrying the modern with traditional antique and rustic elements, all bathed in an abundance of natural light.

This unique three-storey, five-bedroom house is equipped with every possible amenity to make your stay a comfortable and memorable one. In addition to the bedrooms that are all tastefully decorated and fitted with comfortable beds, the house includes three baths, a living room, and an open kitchen – all laid out on three floors.

The ground floor entrance opens onto a large living room with an adjoining open American kitchen, a bedroom and a bath. The fully-equipped modern kitchen comes with refrigerator, oven, microwave, washing machine, and all the utensils you need to cook your favorite dishes. The first floor includes two distinctively styled bedrooms, one of which has a balcony and adjoining bath. The second floor includes two additional charming bedrooms and a bath.

The Versilia region offers ample possibilities on all levels including, of course, gastronomy, and here you can taste the excellent local food products such as wine, olive oil, fruits, vegetables and fish. You can also choose to dine in one of the many fine restaurants, indulge in first class shopping, or walk along the seaside market in Forte dei Marmi. Nearby is the town of Pietrasanta, the “City of Artists”, and you can go on a mountain hike in the Apuan Alps (Monte Prana, Monte Matanna, Monte Gabberi), or visit the museums and historical sites of the Italian art centers of Pisa, Florence and Siena. In addition to the wealth of activities the Versilia region offers, you’ll find peace and relaxation in the calm, natural surroundings of the Old Stone House in Orbicciano.
